Collings has unveiled the latest addition to its acoustic guitar trove: the C100 Series. The line currently only features the C100 and the C100 Deluxe, which are bigger siblings of the C10 models.
The C100 models’ sleek aesthetic doesn’t mean a compromise on tone. Even with their parlour-style build, they’re capable of producing the rich, commanding tones of larger acoustics.
Delving into the finer details, both guitars feature a 4.75-inch body depth and a 16-inch lower bout. These features contribute to a bright and commanding low-end response that’s well-suited to singer-songwriters looking for good projection in a small package.
The guitars are also designed with a narrower waist and non-scalloped bracing, appointments that afford them the balance and clarity of typical small-bodied instruments.
Elsewhere, both guitars sport a Sitka spruce top and Honduran mahogany neck. The C100, however, has Honduran mahogany back and sides, while the Deluxe uses East Indian rosewood.
