MD Effects releases the Compactor V2

A versatile studio-grade compressor.

MD Effects Compactor V2

MD Effects has released the Compactor V2, an update of its compressor circuit. The pedal comes hot on the heels of MD’s popular High Tide Chorus Reverb and Delay stompbox.

The Compactor is designed to add definition, sustain and punch to each note. It features deep compression capabilities that ensure the dry signal is always present in the mix.

The update brings about a new set of controls. The “EQ”, “Ratio” and “Comp” controls have given way to what MD calls the “Attack and Release” control scheme. The dynamics in both of these controls can result in a fat compressed sound, or a more subtle compression with ringing sustain.

Elsewhere, the pedal’s “Bright” switch makes a return, preserving high frequencies that are often drowned out by the compression effect.

Retails at $200. More information at mdeffects.net.
